Update Tuesday 26th March 2024

Hi, I’m Teena Hughes and it is a drizzly grey day this morning – on the spur of the moment I decided to go treat myself to a visit at Blue Infusion – woohoo!

The rain held off most of the way till I arrived, and then I was nervous my Crocs might slip on the wet footpath as I approached.

Safely in the door, phew!

Entering the cafe and being greeted by the gorgeous Barista  Alisa by name is such a treat, and brings me joy every single time 💜 Alisa is a wonderful woman, and has been making me fabulous double-shot lattes since my very first visit last August; I am so, so happy to have been introduced to this place!

The windows were wide open, so glad I had long sleeves and a scarf to keep the chill off my neck; with the tiniest of rain mist wafting in, I pulled out the laptop and did some work while I waited. When the latte arrived moments later, it was divine! Mmmmmmm xxx

Being in a different location and being served by a gorgeous Barista puts the mind in a different “zone” and is so conducive to being productive. I’ve missed all the cafe visits I used to make pre-COVID. I really need to do this more often :D

20th August 2023

I’ve been living in this area about an hour north of Brisbane for ten months, and have been so disappointed to not find any cafes close by that I could call “my local”.

I found a great place over on the coast called “Letter M Cafe”, and drive over there every 2 to 3 weeks to sit in the delightfully tiny, artsy space across from the water (introduced to me by my Coffee Collaborator Caro!).

So when I saw a group of women on a local-ish facebook Group looking for others to have coffee with, I jumped at the chance :-)

When the cafe was announced, I was keen to see what this new place would be like. I let Siri know the address, and she took me on an adventure driving along roads I’d never been on before (I like to avoid the freeway whenever possible), and arrived at the Blue Infusion cafe.

Parking … waaaah! Too hard!

I’ll be honest – parking was a bitch! I drove up and down and around for about 10 mins trying to find a space (it was around 9:00am on a Friday) and just when I decided to give up and go find another cafe, I had to drive back past the cafe.

Voila! A spot opened up right at the door just as I was approching! The Universe really wanted me to go in :D

I walked in and asked at the counter if there were any groups here yet, and no, there weren’t, so I decided to order a coffee and test it out.

“Double shot latte please – thick and creamy – made with love.”

After a little while, the Barista motioned to me to come over, and she asked what I’d said after the “latte” bit, so I told her; she laughed and said that was NOT what was written down, and we both laughed. I told her that I admit to being fussy, and usually make my own at home – 50% strong espresso, and 50% thick and creamy hot milk.

The Barista then poured the start of my latte, and held up the glass for me to see if I was happy with the QUANTITY of coffee.

“Yes!” I enthused! OMG! I was soooo excited!

  1. a Barista who asked, and listened
  2. a Barista who understood how I like my lattes, and went on to make exactly what I wanted to drink!

I was in heaven as I waited for her to pour the milk, and she handed it over to me at the counter. I was beyond excited to taste this latte!

OMG it WAS DELICIOUS!

Finally, after ten long months, I have found a cafe just 20 mins from home, where the ambience is lovely, the staff are fabulous, and the latte is divine! Woohoo!

Not long after, the ladies I was waiting for showed up, and we had a lovely chat for about an hour. I asked about other cafes like this, and wrote down a couple of suggestions. Fantastic! I now have a couple of new adventures to go on!
